Best and Worst Suit Ever
Peggy S, Knoxville TN
Sigh, DESTROYER.....I love so many things about this suit. I have literally owned cases of this suit (including its predecessor, the Predator - which was more nylon and I went through about one a month of the Predator). I love the Destroyer fit, the high neck, the closed back, and I think it would flatter most swimmers-with these particular features. I could wear the Destroyer for the rest of my life, ordering 3-12 at a time... but there is a problem; we'll get to that. I love how the Destroyer anti-chlorine fabric lasts many times longer than the previous model. I love how I don't have to look for another suit, just keep re-ordering the same suit. I can even live with the difficulty zipping it from top down! THE PROBLEM: The zippers keep breaking, even in relatively new suits! It is always breaks at the top of the suit where the part you hold to attach literally breaks off along with the tiny piece it sits on. Because I tend to buy in bulk, it makes returns complicated, with long delays between the purchase and the putting suit into use....I could easily have a suit for 6-12 months before I pull I pull it out. Thats what happens when you buy ahead a bunch of something at a time. So, even if I get the suit for $40, it comes out more like $80 a suit, because of the lost ones to the zipper breakage. I look at them and wonder if it is worth attempting to repair, but I am not handy and it may be a wasted investment... I saw another interview of this suit which primarily pointed out the zipper breakage issue, so I assume it not unique to me...
