Nylon vs Lycra Sizing

Based on the various feedback on this nylon trainer and the square-cut Speedo lycra suit (with the 2 stripes down each side,) I thought this nylon trainer would fit the same, but it didn't at all. I fit a 36 in the lycra, but returned a 36 nylon for a 34, but that also was loose. I kept the 34, but think i could have fit a 32, which should be about right for a suit, this may run maybe even a little large. So far it has been very comfy, light, and quick drying. Maybe it's not the most stylish, but I bought so it would last longer than a few months that a lycra would last.
