FINIS was co-founded in 1992 by John Mix and Pablo Morales in the early 1990s. Their original product, the monofin, was conceptualized to provide a streamlined way for swimmers to train, strengthen their core, and further condition themselves. The companies highest priority is innovative research and design to ultimately improve the quality of swimming. Even their name represents their core values to provide products that motivate people to swim better and swim more often; FINIS is actually Latin for "the end" or "grand finale" - that exciting cross of a finish line that competitors use to advance themselves and grow in the sport.
